The Microchip Is Not Dead and is not going anywhere...
Why the microchip isn’t dying, it’s just tired of listening to bad physics and worse business plans.
Every few years, someone declares the death of the microchip. This time it’s the wafer’s turn to play messiah. The idea sounds poetic, skip the tiny dies, print one giant processor, end the limits of Moore’s Law. It’s also nonsense. Physics, yield math, and thermodynamics still run the show. You don’t outsmart electrons with a bigger pizza.
